Lush Waimea Valley is only an hour away from Honolulu, but a world apart. The valley itself is a historic treasure. Sites of archeological interest sit tucked into the folds of the valley’s 1,800 acres.
Stroll through the world’s premier collection of heliconia, ginger, hibiscus and other native Hawaiian plants at the Waimea Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The 36 gardens along the valley have more than 6,000 species of rare plants from all over the globe, including many endangered plants. The park is open 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. daily. Waimea Falls Park has many open and secluded areas where weddings may be held.
