A moderate
2 mile hike up to see the lighthouse that has been in use since 1909. The bunkers near the top were constructed during World War II. Right off the shore is Rabbit Island so named because a rancher released rabbits to breed there in the 1880's and not because it is shaped like a rabbit. During the winter months (December - April) humpback whales can be seen from here, especially with the aid of binoculars. An intimate wedding ceremony for just the two of you is perfect for this location, right out on the lookout balcony with a view of Rabbit Island, Diamond Head, Makapu'u Lighthouse and the beautiful Pacific Ocean crashing on the cliffs far below.
Be sure to bring water as there is no drinking fountains, restrooms or shade
along the 2 mile paved pathway. Recommended for early morning weddings
before 10:00AM.
Please note:
Outside providers of services we offer are NOT PERMITTED at this
location.
