Minutes from Waikiki, a sheltered, crescent beach backed by a magnificent view of Diamond Head and the famous Ala Wai Yacht Harbor highlights one of Honolulu's most popular parks. You may remember the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor from the television show Gilligan's Island, it was used in the opening scenes when the "USS Minnow" left from Honolulu for it's infamous "3 hour tour". Free parking and facilities, it tends to be crowded during the day. However, the beach is relatively empty by late afternoon and the sunsets can be spectacular. Very nice grass areas are perfect for an intimate wedding with a view of Diamond Head and the Waikiki coastline in the background. Magic Island comprises 30 acres of the 100-acre Ala Moana Beach Park. There are also lovely shaded picnic facilities and grassy areas perfect for family outings.

Large wedding ceremonies with over 25 people require a permit from the City & County Parks Department. Wedding ceremonies requiring equipment set up including chairs for guests, wedding arch, torches, etc. also require a $250.00 deposit which is refunded within 60 days after the wedding. If your reception will be held at the ark an additional permit and deposit may be required. We will obtain all necessary permits  for your wedding ceremony and/or reception.
